NAMA Denies Recruitment Exercise, Warns Job Seekers Against Fraudsters

The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has denied reports of an ongoing recruitment exercise, warning job seekers and members of the public against fake employment offers being circulated in its name.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, NAMA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Dr Abdullahi Musa, said fraudsters were impersonating the agency and issuing fake recruitment and appointment letters to unsuspecting members of the public.

NAMA described the development as worrisome, noting that the fraudulent recruitment schemes were designed to exploit job seekers while also damaging the reputation of the agency.

The agency clarified that it is not currently conducting any recruitment exercise.

NAMA advised members of the public not to make payments, submit sensitive personal information or enter into any arrangement with anyone claiming to be offering employment opportunities on behalf of the agency.

The agency urged job seekers to verify any recruitment announcement or appointment letter through its official communication channels before taking further action.

It also advised the public to disregard unofficial correspondence, social media messages and representations from unauthorised intermediaries claiming to be acting on behalf of NAMA.

The agency reiterated that it does not authorise any individual or third party to collect money or other benefits in exchange for employment.

NAMA further urged anyone who encounters such fraudulent activities to report them to the appropriate authorities.

It warned that the agency would not be responsible for any loss suffered by individuals who engage with impostors or unauthorised persons claiming to represent NAMA.
