Government Does Not Know Everything, Offer Your Suggestions – Wike to Nigerians

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has urged Nigerians to actively engage with government by offering constructive suggestions and drawing attention to issues they believe require improvement.

Wike made the appeal on Monday during his monthly media briefing in Abuja, stressing that government officials are not infallible and cannot be aware of every challenge facing citizens.

According to the minister, citizens have a responsibility to contribute meaningfully to governance by providing feedback and practical recommendations rather than limiting themselves to criticism.

He noted that constructive engagement between the government and the people would help authorities identify gaps and improve service delivery.

“You can call our attention. Make your own suggestions to the government. The government does not know everything. I’m human,” Wike said.

The former Rivers State governor emphasized that public officials are open to receiving useful information from citizens and stakeholders, adding that such contributions could help government address issues more effectively.

“It’s not by coming out to criticize and fault what the government is doing. Nobody has called my attention. What good citizens should do is to call the attention of the government,” he added.

Wike reiterated the importance of collaboration between the government and the governed, maintaining that constructive criticism backed by practical suggestions remains essential for national development and effective governance.
