Tinubu departs Abuja for France, begins three-nation official visit
President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for France, kicking off a three-nation official tour aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic and economic partnerships.
The presidential aircraft took off on Sunday from the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The visit marks the beginning of a broader itinerary that will also take the president to Nairobi, Kenya, and Kigali, Rwanda.
According to the presidency, Bola Tinubu will first hold engagements in France before proceeding to Nairobi, where he is scheduled to attend the Africa–France Summit slated for May 11 to May 12.
The summit will be co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto, with discussions expected to focus on energy transition, climate action, digital transformation, and expanded economic cooperation between Africa and France.
Following his engagements in Kenya, Tinubu will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, for the Africa CEO Forum scheduled for May 14 to May 15. The forum is expected to bring together global business leaders and policymakers to explore investment opportunities and strategies for economic growth across Africa.
The presidency said the tour forms part of ongoing efforts to deepen Nigeria’s international partnerships and attract foreign investment through high-level diplomatic and economic engagements.
