Amid Defections: ADC Releases Primaries Timetable, Pegs Presidential Form at #100 Million
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has released its timetable for party primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections, alongside a structured pricing framework for nomination forms across all elective positions.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the schedule reflects the ADC’s commitment to internal democracy, transparency, and adherence to electoral guidelines.
According to the timetable, sales of nomination forms will run from May 5 to May 10, 2026, while completed forms must be submitted between May 11 and May 13.
Screening of aspirants is scheduled for May 14 to May 15, with results to be released on May 17. Appeals will be heard on May 18 and May 19, while the final list of cleared candidates will be published on May 20.
Primary elections will begin on May 21, starting with state legislative, House of Representatives, and Senate contests conducted at the ward level. Governorship primaries are fixed for May 22, while the presidential primary will hold on May 25.
The party’s National Executive Committee is expected to meet on May 26, followed by a Special National Convention on May 27 for final ratification of outcomes.
On nomination fees, the party pegged the presidential form at ₦100 million, governorship at ₦50 million, Senate at ₦20 million, House of Representatives at ₦10 million, and State House of Assembly at ₦3 million.
The ADC also introduced concessions aimed at broader inclusion, offering a 50% discount for youths and 25% discounts for women and persons with disabilities.
The party urged members and aspirants to comply strictly with the timetable and guidelines as preparations for the primaries continue.
