‎Oyo Fire Service Contains Electrical Blaze in Ibadan Residential Building

‎The Oyo State Fire Services Agency has contained a fire outbreak at a residential building near the C.A.C Oke-Ayo area of Idi-Obi Junction, Agugu, Ibadan, preventing what could have been a major disaster.

‎Fire Service personnel, led by Assistant Chief Fire Superintendent Adisa, said the personnel of the agency were quickly mobilized to the scene following a distress call received by the service.

‎Upon their arrival, a five-bedroom flat on the upper floor of the affected storey building was already engulfed in thick smoke.

‎According to the agency, the firefighters swung into action and brought the blaze under control and stopped it from spreading to the ground floor and nearby buildings.

‎No casualties were recorded in the incident as the agency attributed the fire to electrical sparks from an appliance when public electricity supply was restored.

‎Security operatives from the Agugu Divisional Police Headquarters and the Amotekun Corps of Ibadan North East Local Government also assisted at the scene.

‎The Fire Services Agency confirmed that its personnel returned safely to base and remained on standby for further emergencies.
