‎Sasaeniyan Olawale Abiola Foundation Holds 1st Annual Ramadan Lecture in Ibadan, Urges Muslim Faithful to Embrace Contentment


‎The Sasaeniyan Olawale Abiola Foundation, SOAF, on Sunday, March 1, 2026, hosted its 1st Annual Ramadan Lecture and Award Presentation at Cabin Hall, Oju School, Odinjo, Ibadan.

‎The spiritually uplifting event, which commenced promptly, brought together Islamic scholars, political leaders, business stakeholders, cooperative society members and residents from across Ibadan and beyond.

‎With the theme, “Submissive to the Will of Allah and Contentment,” the lecture focused on the importance of unwavering faith, gratitude and total reliance on Allah, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

‎The event featured renowned Islamic cleric, Sheikh Al-Khalifah Muritador Yusuf Muhammad Sanni (Imoyale), as the guest lecturer, while respected personalities from different sectors of society graced the occasion.

‎Chairman of The Day, Hon. AbdulAkeem Olatunji Akogun Aare Adinni Qoddriyah Of Ibadan Land; The Chairman of the Event, Alhaji Murisiku Oladimeji, alongside the APC Chairman in Ibadan Southeast Local Government, Hon. Tajudeen Asan’ke, led other prominent politicians to the programme.

‎Notable among them were Hon. Kolawole Akande; Hon. Wasiu Hamzat Olanrewaju (Lamour); Hon. Idris Babalola Aleshinloye (BROWN); Hon. Waris Adegoke (Tanna-Tanna), who was represented; Hon. Ibrahim Akorede Abdulrasaq; and Hon. Badmus Abiodun, among other dignitaries home and abroad.

‎Business leaders in attendance included the Babalaje of Ibadan Southeast Local Government, Alhaji Ibrahim Agunbiade Idowu, and Mr. Wasiu Olaniyi Gbolahan. Islamic clerics present at the event were Alfa Abdulquadri Olubodun and Alfa Tajudeen Omobolaji.

‎Elder statesman Alhaji Rauf Tijani Jakan was also warmly acknowledged for his presence and fatherly support.

‎Members of the Isokan Tiwa Cooperative Society were also strongly represented. Among them were the Supervisor, Mr. Akorede Azeez; the National Secretary, Abdulateef Latifa; the Savings and Shares Secretary, Olawale Mariam; Mr. Abdulsalam Saheed; Mr. Abdulsalam Alade; Mrs. Osho’la Ramota; and other national and zonal representatives.

‎Hon. Kolawole Akande, commended the Convener, Honorable Olawale Abiola Sasaeniyan for his steadfast dedication to community development and his consistent support for religious and humanitarian initiatives within Ibadan Southeast and beyond.

‎Similarly, Hon. Idris Babalola Aleshinloye (BROWN) praised Sasaeniyan for his grassroots impact and unwavering passion for youth empowerment and social welfare.

‎The Chairman of the Event, Alhaji Murisiku Oladimeji, applauded Honorable Olawale Abiola for his leadership qualities and his role in promoting peaceful coexistence in the community.

‎Elder Alhaji Rauf Tijani Jakan also celebrated Sasaeniyan for his wisdom and longstanding contributions to community building. While other Participants described him as a pillar of support whose counsel continues to inspire younger generations to uphold integrity and devotion.

‎The Mother of the Day, Her Excellency Amb. Romoke Ayinde (Kayromlee), encouraged Muslim faithful, especially women and youths, to remain steadfast in faith and to use the Ramadan season to strengthen family values and community bonds.

‎Guest artist Ibrahim Labaika also motivated the host and organizers, praising their vision and urging them not to relent in using faith-driven initiatives to uplift the less privileged and promote unity among Muslims.

‎In his speech, the chief Host, Hon. Bar. Adesina Fatai Adeniyi, noted that Ramadan is a sacred month that teaches us patience, sacrifice, humility, and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah.

‎”The theme of today’s lecture, “Submissive to the Will of Allah and Contentment,” is a powerful reminder that true peace and fulfillment come not from worldly possessions, but from sincere obedience to Allah and gratitude for His countless blessings.”

‎I sincerely commend the organizers for this noble initiative aimed at promoting Islamic knowledge, unity, and community development.

‎”I urge us all to listen attentively to our esteemed lecturer and reflect deeply on the lessons shared. Let us use this opportunity to renew our faith, strengthen our character, and extend kindness and support to one another, especially during this holy month.”

‎”May Allah accept our fasting, prayers, and good deeds, and may He continue to guide and bless our community with peace, progress, and prosperity. Thank you all for your presence, and may the peace and mercy of Allah be upon you.”

‎The Convener of the Event, Asiwaju Hon. Olawale Abiola Sasaeniyan, expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the success of the inaugural lecture.

‎Honorable Abiola reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to sustaining the annual Ramadan lecture as a platform for spiritual enlightenment, youth mentorship and community development.

‎He stated that the Annual Ramadan Lecture was conceived to remind Muslims of the essence of submission to Allah’s will and the virtue of contentment in all circumstances.

‎Sasaeniyan then urged attendees to internalize the lessons of contentment and submission to Allah’s will beyond the Ramadan period.

‎He appreciated all dignitaries, cooperative society members, business leaders and political figures who honored the invitation and pledged that the Foundation would continue to champion programmes that benefit humanity.

‎In further demonstration of compassion and service to humanity, the Foundation distributed food packages to attendees and vulnerable members of the community to support them during the fasting period. The food packages, known in Arabic as Iftar, were provided to assist beneficiaries in breaking their fast with ease and dignity.

‎The distribution of the Iftar packages was warmly received by beneficiaries, who expressed gratitude to the Foundation for its thoughtful gesture.

‎The event concluded with prayers for Ibadan, Oyo State and Nigeria at large, as participants expressed hope that the Ramadan season would usher in peace, progress and divine blessings for all.
