Public Alert: Scavenger Found in Possession of Human Body Part in Oyo, Police Wade in Before Community Set Him on Fire
The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three suspects in two separate intelligence driven operations in Oyo and Ibadan, recovering a suspected human part, toy pistols and illicit substances.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ayanlade Olayinka, confirmed the arrest of one Garuba Aminu, in Oyo town for unlawful possession of an item suspected to be a human body part.
Olayinka explained that concerned residents carried out a search which led to a disturbing discovery.
According to him, cut lower right leg suspected to be a human part was discovered inside a large sack containing waste plastic bottles in his possession of the scavenger.
He stated that a joint patrol team swiftly intervened when tension rose at the scene.
He disclosed that the suspect had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In a separate operation in Ibadan, the Command arrested two suspected armed robbers, Elijah Teejay and Ottu Emmanuel following credible intelligence from residents about criminal activities along Elebu-Oja, off Alao-Akala Expressway.
The police spokesperson disclosed that the suspects admitted to multiple robberies saying Upon interrogation, and will be charged to court soonest.
