Tinubu Gets Saudi Crown Prince’s Invitation to Global Investment Summit
President Bola Tinubu has received an invitation from the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, to attend the 10th edition of the Future Investment Initiative scheduled to hold in Riyadh in October 2026.
The invitation was delivered on Friday by the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Nigeria, Yousef Mohammed Albalawi, during an audience with the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. According to the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Nigeria, the envoy presented the invitation on behalf of the Saudi Crown Prince.
President Tinubu expressed appreciation to the Saudi leadership for the invitation and reaffirmed the cordial relationship between Nigeria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He also commended the growing cooperation between both countries across various sectors, describing the bilateral ties as strong and mutually beneficial.
The President expressed his “sincere thanks and appreciation for the invitation” and praised the “strong relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Federal Republic of Nigeria across various fields.”
The Future Investment Initiative is Saudi Arabia’s flagship global investment conference, widely referred to as the “Davos in the Desert.” Organised annually by the Future Investment Initiative Institute, the forum brings together world leaders, investors, business executives, innovators and policymakers to discuss global economic trends, technology, sustainability and investment opportunities.
The 10th edition, scheduled for October 2026 in Riyadh, marks a decade since the initiative was launched in 2017 as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 economic diversification programme. Over the years, the forum has attracted heads of state, sovereign wealth funds, multinational corporations, entrepreneurs and leading financial institutions from around the world.
This year’s summit is expected to focus on artificial intelligence, digital transformation, energy transition, climate resilience, healthcare innovation, infrastructure development, advanced manufacturing and strategies for mobilising global capital to drive sustainable economic growth.
