2027: Kuso Congratulates Makinde on APM Presidential Ticket, Rallies Nigerians for Support

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Chairmanship aspirant for Ibarapa East Local Government in the forthcoming 2026 council election, Hon. Abdul Akeem Akintola Kuso, has congratulated Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on his emergence as the consensus presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) for the 2027 presidential election.

Kuso described Makinde’s emergence as a well-deserved recognition of exemplary leadership, visionary governance and commitment to the development of the people.

Recall that Governor Makinde was on Saturday presented with the party’s Certificate of Return and presidential flag by the National Chairman of the APM, Yusuf Dantalle, during the party’s presidential primary election and unveiling ceremony held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Reacting to the development, Kuso said the decision of the party to adopt Makinde as its consensus candidate was a clear indication that Nigerians across political divides have begun to appreciate the governor’s remarkable achievements and administrative competence.

According to him, Makinde’s seven years of governance in Oyo State have transformed critical sectors including education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, security and economic development, making the state one of the fastest-growing sub-national governments in Nigeria.

He noted that the governor’s leadership style, transparency in governance and people-oriented policies have earned him widespread respect beyond Oyo State, adding that his presidential ambition offers renewed hope for a better Nigeria.

“Governor Seyi Makinde has demonstrated capacity, competence and character. His administration has become a reference point for good governance, accountability and sustainable development. His emergence as the consensus presidential candidate of the APM is not only a victory for Oyo State but a significant moment for Nigerians yearning for purposeful leadership,” Kuso stated.

The Ibarapa East Chairmanship aspirant further urged Nigerians, particularly youths, women and progressive-minded citizens, to rally behind Makinde’s aspiration, describing it as a movement aimed at resetting the nation and restoring confidence in government.

He maintained that Nigeria is in dire need of leaders with proven records of performance, stressing that Makinde possesses the experience, courage and vision required to address the country’s socio-economic and political challenges.

Kuso also called on political stakeholders, community leaders and development partners across the country to support the emerging coalition championing the “Reset Nigerian Movement,” saying it represents a collective effort to build a nation founded on equity, justice, economic prosperity and national unity.

While expressing optimism about the future, he urged Nigerians to look beyond party affiliations and embrace competence, credibility and performance as the major criteria for leadership selection in 2027.

“At this critical stage of our national history, Nigerians must unite behind leaders who have shown capacity to deliver results. Governor Seyi Makinde has proven himself as a transformational leader. I therefore call on all well-meaning Nigerians to support his aspiration and join hands in building a stronger, more prosperous and united Nigeria,” Kuso added.

He prayed for divine wisdom, strength and guidance for Governor Makinde as he embarks on the journey towards the 2027 presidential election.
