Tragedy: Friends, Associates Mourn as Nollywood Star, Alex Ekubo Dies at 40
Popular Nollywood actor, Alex Ekubo, has reportedly died at the age of 40.
His passing was confirmed on Tuesday by some of his close colleagues, including Funke Akindele, Bolanle Ninalowo, and Godwin Nnadiekwe, who all described him as a friend and associate within the Nollywood industry.
Akindele, reacting via her Instagram story, expressed shock and sorrow over the news, noting that she had tried to reach him before his passing.
She described Ekubo as a cherished friend, adding that she would remember the moments they shared and praying for the repose of his soul.
Ninalowo, who is currently based in the United States, also paid tribute, describing the loss as painful and praying for strength for the late actor’s family and loved ones.
Similarly, Nnadiekwe expressed deep grief, describing Ekubo’s death as heartbreaking and unexpected. He noted that the late actor had been making personal plans for the future, making the news even more difficult to accept.
As of the time of filing this report, Ekubo’s family is yet to release an official statement regarding the circumstances of his death.
