Despite Ongoing EFCC Probe, Yahaya Bello Picks APC Nomination Form for Kogi Central Senatorial Race

The former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, who is currently under an ongoing probe by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has picked up the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination form to contest for the Kogi Central senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Despite the EFCC probe, Bello reportedly collected the nomination forms on Saturday and is said to have emerged as the party’s consensus candidate for the senatorial ticket.

His entry into the race sets up a likely contest with the incumbent senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Bello previously served two terms as governor of Kogi State before handing over to the current governor, Usman Ododo.
