FCT Minister, Wike Accuses Governor Makinde of Destroying PDP, Denies Allegations of Betraying Party
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, on Monday launched a sharp attack on Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, accusing him of being the architect of the ongoing crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Wike made the remarks during a media chat, where he blamed personal ambition for the deep divisions rocking the opposition party.
According to Wike, the PDP’s troubles began when Makinde allegedly conspired with others to remove the party’s National Secretary.
He claimed that Makinde encouraged the filing of a suit at a State High Court in Enugu, despite knowing that the court lacked jurisdiction over the matter.
He further accused Makinde of rejecting dispute resolution approach and pushing the matter to the Supreme Court, where he reportedly lost.
The FCT minister also took time to address allegations that he once told President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that he would hold PDP down for him.
Wike flatly denied that such a meeting ever took place, describing the claim as completely false, unfair, and a product of political frustration.
In a final swipe, Wike criticized Makinde’s approach to politics, suggesting that governance and party management are not comparable to running a business.
It would be recalled that Governor Seyi Makinde had first throw jabs at the FCT minister and the president during his recent media chat.
All fingers now crossed as Nigerians Await governor Makinde’s reaction to the latest revelations made against him by his former friend, Nyesom Wike and Ayodele Fayose, the Osoko.
