‎Police Confirm Broda Shaggi’s Gunshot Injury During Skit Filming, Fans Await Management Statement



‎The police have confirmed that popular Nigerian comedian and content creator, Broda Shaggi, is currently receiving medical care after sustaining a gunshot injury.

‎The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, said the command became aware of the incident after a hospital reported that a gunshot victim had been brought to its facility.

‎According to her, police detectives and a patrol team were immediately dispatched to the hospital, where they confirmed that the injured victim was the popular skit maker.

‎“The hospital contacted the police to report that a gunshot victim had been brought to their facility. Detectives and a patrol team were immediately mobilised to the hospital, where they discovered that the victim was a skit maker and social media influencer popularly known as Broda Shaggy,” Adebisi said.

‎She added that the comedian was found on a stretcher with a gunshot wound on his thigh. However, she clarified that the alleged shooting occurred in Sango-Ota, which falls outside the jurisdiction of the Lagos command.

‎“The location of the incident is in Sango-Ota and not within our jurisdiction, but the investigation is ongoing,” she said.

‎Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the incident had not yet been formally reported to the police in the state.

‎“The incident was alleged to have occurred in Ogun State, but it was not reported,” Babaseyi stated.

‎Attempts to obtain further details by thr Punch Newspapers from the comedian’s management were unsuccessful. His manager, Olufemi Oguntamu, popularly known as Penzaar, did not respond to phone calls or a text message sent to him as of the time of filing this report.

‎Sources earlier indicated that the comedian sustained the injury while filming a comedy skit under a bridge in the Sango-Ota area.

‎He was initially rushed to a private medical facility for first aid before being referred to another hospital in Lagos for further treatment, where he is currently recuperating.
