NAFDAC Uncovers Suspected Counterfeit Drinks Facility in Lagos, Arrests Two
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has uncovered a suspected counterfeit production facility at Zamfara Plaza, BBA Trade Fair Complex, Lagos State, arresting two suspects in connection with the operation.
NAFDAC disclosed this on Tuesday through its official X handle, stating that the suspects were arrested at the scene while allegedly revalidating energy drinks and popular wine and whisky brands.
The discovery raises concerns over the circulation of potentially counterfeit beverages and the possible risks they pose to public health and consumer safety.
The agency, however, said more details about the operation would be released shortly as further information becomes available.
