INEC Begins Distribution Of 77,015 PVCs Across Oyo Wards
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the distribution and collection of 77,015 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) across the 351 Registration Areas and Wards in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
The Head of the Publicity Unit of INEC in Oyo State, Mr. Olayiwola Awolowo, disclosed this on Friday, urging eligible voters to visit their respective wards to collect their cards before the end of the ongoing exercise on October 15, 2026.
Awolowo explained that the available PVCs were meant for eligible registrants who participated in the first phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise conducted between August and December 2025.
He noted that the cards of those who successfully completed their registration during the period had arrived and are ready for collection, alongside previously unclaimed PVCs.
However, the INEC spokesman clarified that the cards of applicants who requested transfers or had other registration-related issues were yet to arrive.
He urged eligible voters to take advantage of the exercise to collect their PVCs at their respective Registration Areas and Wards.
Awolowo added that after the October 15 deadline for the ward-level exercise, the Commission would continue the distribution and collection of PVCs at its offices in the 33 Local Government Areas of Oyo State.
