INEC to Begin Distribution Of Newly Printed PVCs In Oyo From October 9
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Oyo State will commence the distribution of newly printed Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) across the state’s 33 Local Government Area offices from Friday, October 9, 2026.
The distribution is being carried out ahead of the forthcoming general elections and will cover newly registered voters, those who transferred their polling units, as well as voters whose PVCs were lost or damaged during the last Continuous Voter Registration exercise.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Oyo State, Prof. Adeniran Rahman Tella, said the collection would take place daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., excluding weekends and public holidays.
Tella, in a media release, stressed that collection of the PVCs would be strictly personal and would not be allowed by proxy.
He said the commission had made adequate arrangements to ensure that the exercise was conducted in a transparent, orderly and peaceful manner, in collaboration with security agencies across the state.
The REC urged members of the public and other relevant stakeholders in the electoral process to cooperate with the commission by ensuring the prompt collection of their newly printed PVCs.
He also noted that a significant number of old PVCs from the 2023 general elections remained uncollected in the state, urging eligible voters to take advantage of the exercise to collect their cards.
