Oyo Police Assures Parents, Teachers, Students Of Safety As Schools Resume Next Week
The Oyo State Police Command has assured parents, teachers, students and pupils of adequate security as schools across the state prepare to resume for the new academic session next week.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Olayinka Ayanlade, said the command had put measures in place to ensure a safe and peaceful environment for teaching and learning.
Ayanlade disclosed that the command had launched the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Safe School Initiative as part of efforts to strengthen security around schools and improve rapid response to potential threats.
He explained that under the initiative, some PCRC volunteers would join schools to provide additional security support and quickly notify the police whenever they observed any development capable of leading to a breakdown of law and order.
The police spokesperson also disclosed that intelligence operatives had been deployed across the nooks and crannies of the state, particularly in areas identified as vulnerable to security threats.
Ayanlade added that the command was particularly focused on maintaining security in vulnerable locations as schools reopen and normal activities resume across the state.
The command urged school authorities, teachers and parents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements, persons or activities to the police.
