Egbeda Council Reconstructs 5.8km Olodo-Agandi-Emu-Alaja-Egba Road
The Egbeda Local Government Council of Oyo State has commenced the reconstruction of a 5.8-kilometre road linking Enyo Filling Station in Olodo through Agandi, Emu Area, Alaja Area, Odan Junction and Egba at the Egbeda/Lagelu boundary.
The ongoing project also covers the Agandi/Ayeloja Road and is part of efforts by the local government council to improve road infrastructure and connectivity across communities within the area.
The project, being executed by BOPOY Limited, commenced in January 2026 and is scheduled for completion within nine months.
The scope of work includes the construction of hydraulic structures, earthworks and asphaltic surfacing, as well as drainage and other structural works required to enhance the durability and functionality of the road.
The reconstruction is expected to improve transportation and movement for residents and motorists using the route, while also strengthening connectivity between communities around the Egbeda and Lagelu local government areas.
The road serves several communities and areas along the route, making its reconstruction significant to residents, traders, commuters and other road users who depend on it for their daily activities.
The ongoing works, according to updates from the Oyo State Government Feedback Service, include drainage and other preparatory construction activities ahead of the completion of the asphaltic surfacing.
When completed, the 5.8-kilometre road is expected to provide a smoother and more accessible route for residents and motorists while reducing some of the difficulties associated with movement along the axis.
The project is being monitored as part of ongoing infrastructure development efforts aimed at improving road networks and facilitating easier movement across communities in Oyo State.

The Egbeda Local Government Council is expected to continue with the construction works in line with the nine-month completion schedule.
