‎Oyo Fire Service averts inferno at Araromi Market, Gate-Ibadan, Battles Blaze From Saturday till Sunday


‎The Oyo State Fire Services Agency has prevented an inferno at Onipasan, Araromi Market, Gate, Ibadan, from spreading to nearby shops and properties.

‎The agency said it received the distress call at about 11:05pm on Saturday, from a caller identified as Mr. Ayobami, who reported the incident.

‎A firefighting crew led by Chief Fire Superintendent Adesina was promptly deployed to the scene, where firefighters found disused tyres and spare parts engulfed in flames and threatening surrounding shops and nearby properties.

‎The crew immediately commenced firefighting operations and requested reinforcement from the Fire Service Headquarters, which deployed an additional fire truck to support the operation.

‎The coordinated efforts of the firefighters successfully contained and extinguished the flames, preventing them from spreading to the shops and other nearby properties.

‎No casualty was recorded while preliminary investigation indicated that the incident was suspected to have resulted from unattended burning of electrical cables in an attempt to recover copper wires.

‎The firemen returned safely to the station at 1:21am on Sunday and remained on operational standby.
