BREAKING: Nollywood Actor Taiwo Hassan ‘Ogogo’ Dies at 66
Popular Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan, better known as Ogogo, has reportedly died at the age of 66.
The veteran actor’s daughter, Kaira Taiwo, confirmed his death during a live session on Instagram on Sunday.
The development comes days after members of the actor’s family appealed to the public for medical assistance as he battled stage four cancer.
Earlier in the week, Ogogo’s daughters, Kaira and Lima Taiwo, had taken to social media to seek medical advice and support for their father, whose condition had reportedly deteriorated.
According to Kaira, the doctors treating the actor had informed the family that chemotherapy could no longer be administered because of his condition.
The family subsequently sought alternative treatment options, including specialised medical procedures and other forms of intervention, in a desperate effort to save the veteran actor.
Ogogo, who enjoyed a celebrated career spanning several decades, was widely recognised for his remarkable performances in Yoruba-language films and his contribution to the growth of the Nigerian film industry.
His death is expected to be deeply felt across Nollywood, particularly among colleagues, fans and admirers who have followed his career over the years.
Further details surrounding his death and funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family.
