APC Support Groups Council Debuts in Ogun Central With Massive Turnout, Begins Grassroots Mobilisation Ahead 2027 Polls
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Support Groups Council has officially launched its activities in Ogun Central Senatorial District, bringing together a large gathering of party supporters and stakeholders as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The maiden meeting, held on Thursday in the Aro area of Abeokuta, attracted party faithful, youths, students, artisans, market leaders, Community Development Associations (CDAs), professionals, religious organisations and other political stakeholders from across the senatorial district.
The gathering is aimed at galvanising support for the APC and enhancing grassroots engagement, with particular focus on the aspiration of Senator Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State.
Speaking at the event, the Ogun State Coordinator of the APC Support Groups Council, Lekan Shobo Shobowale, said the council, under the leadership of its South-West Coordinator, Hon. Adewale Adeogun, represents a coordinated grassroots mobilisation network designed to reach communities in every ward across the state.
According to him, the initiative is intended to build on existing mobilisation efforts by bringing together youths, women, professionals, artisans, market associations, religious organisations and community leaders under one platform to strengthen the APC’s grassroots structure.
Shobowale described the APC Support Groups Council as a movement driven by action rather than rhetoric, urging members to remain disciplined, united and focused on strategic grassroots organisation.
He called on the various support groups to work collectively towards strengthening the party, expanding voter participation and delivering electoral success through coordinated mobilisation.
Also speaking, the Coordinator of the APC Support Groups Council in Ogun Central Senatorial District, Prince Peter Adeyemo, commended the leadership of the council’s South-West Deputy Director-General, Hon. Adewale Adeogun, for providing the direction needed to unite the various support groups.
Adeyemo assured that members of the council are committed to practical grassroots mobilisation, community engagement, voter education and strengthening democratic participation across Ogun Central.
He noted that the council’s objective is to connect communities, encourage civic responsibility and contribute to building a stronger Ogun State through collective action.
The event recorded an impressive turnout of members from several APC support groups across Ogun Central and was co-hosted by the Coordinator of the Christian/Muslim Movement for Yayi in Ogun State, Hon. Adewole Olowoaje.
