FG Warns Nigerians Against Fake ₦50,000 Allowance Registration Scam

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction has warned Nigerians to disregard fraudulent messages claiming that registration has commenced for a purported ₦50,000 National Support Allowance.

In a public notice posted on its official X handle on Sunday, the ministry described the messages, websites and application links promoting the alleged programme as fake and fraudulent.

The ministry stressed that it has not commenced registration for any ₦50,000 National Support Allowance and urged members of the public to verify information only through official government communication channels.

“The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction has NOT commenced registration for any ₦50,000 National Support Allowance,” the ministry stated.

It added: “Disregard fraudulent messages, links and websites claiming otherwise. Verify any information only through official government channels.”

The warning followed the circulation of a fake flyer on social media claiming that the allowance programme was being implemented under the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The fraudulent advertisement, published in both English and Hausa, directs unsuspecting applicants to a suspicious website identified as kluspz.com to submit their applications.

The ministry cautioned Nigerians against falling victim to the scam, noting that fraudsters often exploit social intervention programmes to deceive vulnerable citizens seeking government support.

It also recalled that similar scams had surfaced in the past around federal intervention programmes such as N-Power, urging the public to remain vigilant and rely only on verified information released through official government platforms.

The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to protecting Nigerians from misinformation and online fraud, advising citizens to report suspicious messages and avoid sharing personal information on unverified websites.
