‘I’m Alive and Healthy,’ Nollywood Actor Owolabi Ajasa Debunks Death Rumour
Veteran Nollywood actor Owolabi Ajasa, widely known for his iconic police roles and the popular catchphrase, “Ta lo pa Chief?”, has dismissed viral reports claiming he is dead.
The rumour gained traction on social media after an obituary poster announcing the actor’s purported death began circulating online, sparking concern among fans and colleagues.
Reacting to the false claim in a video shared on his Instagram page on Friday, Ajasa assured his fans that he is alive, healthy and in good spirits.
“I’m still much alive and in good health,” the veteran actor declared.
He also condemned those responsible for spreading the fake obituary, saying, “To everyone posting my obituary around, I’m saying back to the sender—to you and your family.”
Addressing his supporters in Nigeria and across the world, Ajasa reaffirmed that there was nothing wrong with his health.
“Good day everyone, my name still remains Owolabi Ajasa, your Nollywood police officer. I want to tell all my fans both in Nigeria and abroad that I’m still much alive. I’m alive, hale and hearty. There’s nothing wrong with me,” he said.
The actor’s clarification has since brought relief to many fans, while renewing concerns over the growing trend of fake death reports targeting celebrities on social media.
