‎Oyo Executive Council Approves ₦3 Billion Cassava Loan, €55 Million Healthcare Project, ₦200 Million Grant for 3SC

‎The Oyo State Executive Council has approved an interest-free ₦3 billion strategic intervention loan for an indigenous cassava processing factory in Ado-Awaye.

‎Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, disclosed this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Ibadan on Thursday.

‎According to the statement, the project is expected to benefit more than 25,000 farmers, create jobs and reinforce Oyo State’s status as one of Nigeria’s leading cassava-producing states.

‎Similarly, the Council approved an additional ₦2.46 billion equity investment in Oyo Sugar and Derivatives Industries Limited to facilitate the commencement of commercial operations at the sugar processing factory in Iseyin.

‎The Council also approved the construction of the 4-kilometre Idi-Igba/Akinmorin Road in Ilora at a cost of ₦2.9 billion, citing its expected socio-economic benefits to residents and businesses in the area.

‎The Executive Council equally approved the implementation of a comprehensive healthcare initiative to be financed through a €55 million French loan backed by the Federal Government.

‎The project will fund the construction and equipping of hospitals, including a Cardiac Centre, Emergency and Maternity Centres, Intensive Care Units, operating theatres, 39 ambulances, 10 dental centres and 200 Primary Healthcare Centres across the state.

‎In the sports sector, the Council approved an initial ₦200 million take-off grant for Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) to support the Ibadan-based club’s campaign for continental success after a 27-year wait.
