2027: APC Assembly Aspirant Wasiu Olanrewaju Promises Inclusive Representation, Donates Solar Streetlights to Ibadan Communities
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and aspirant for the Ibadan South East State Constituency I seat in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Wasiu Hamzat Olanrewaju, has pledged to provide inclusive and people-oriented representation if elected in the 2027 general election.
Olanrewaju made the pledge on Sunday during a familiarisation visit to members of the Ireakari Vigilante Landlords and Landladies Association at Tewogbade/Olodo, Eleta, Ward 5. He said his aspiration was driven by a desire to ensure that every community within the constituency enjoys quality representation and access to the dividends of democracy.
Addressing residents, Olanrewaju said, “My aspiration is about service, not personal interest. I am committed to giving every community in Ibadan South East Constituency I a voice and ensuring that no one is left behind in the distribution of development projects.”
The Chairman of the Ireakari Vigilante Landlords and Landladies Association, Pastor Reuben Ojekunle, commended Olanrewaju for identifying with the community, describing him as a worthy son of the soil. He pledged the association’s support for the APC aspirant and urged him to remain committed to the welfare of the people if elected.
According to Ojekunle, “Hon. Wasiu Olanrewaju has demonstrated humility by coming to meet the people. We believe he understands our challenges, and we are ready to support him on his political journey in the 2027 general election. Our appeal is that he should not forget this community after attaining office.”
The APC aspirant also paid a courtesy visit to the Jegede Oke Labo Landlords and Landladies Association as part of his grassroots engagement across the constituency. During the visits, he reiterated his commitment to maintaining regular interaction with residents and ensuring that their concerns are adequately represented.
At Papa Modina, Elekuro in Ward 6, Olanrewaju donated 10 solar-powered streetlights to improve security and enhance economic and social activities in the community. He described the intervention as a demonstration of his commitment to community development and promised to facilitate more impactful projects.
Speaking during the presentation, he said, “This donation is only a token of my commitment to community development. By the grace of God, I will continue to support our people with projects that improve their quality of life and promote a safer environment.”
The visits were attended by several APC leaders, including the Ward 6 Chairman, Hon. Akinola Olugbade (JP); the Ward 6 Vice Chairman, Mr. Ayodele Salawu; the Ward Youth Leader, Mr. Kabiru Olalere, and other party faithful, who expressed confidence in Olanrewaju’s aspiration and pledged their continued support.
Residents who received the APC aspirant commended his grassroots approach and urged him to sustain his engagement with communities, noting that his outreach and developmental initiatives reflected his desire to deliver effective representation at the Oyo State House of Assembly if elected in 2027.
