Oyo Assembly Confirms Ojo, Oyeleke as Commissioner Designates
The Oyo State House of Assembly has approved the appointment of Barrister Ayobami Ojo and Dr. Lateef Oyeleke as commissioners in the state.
The approval was granted during plenary on Thursday at the Assembly Complex, Secretariat, Ibadan, presided over by the Speaker, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin.
The confirmation followed the presentation and adoption of the report of the House Committee on Special Duties, chaired by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Mohammed Fadeyi, which screened the nominees for the vacant commissioner positions.
Recall that Governor Seyi Makinde had, on May 25, forwarded the names of Dr. Oyeleke and Barrister Ojo to the Assembly for screening and confirmation as members of the State Executive Council.
With the Assembly’s approval, the two nominees are expected to join the state cabinet upon their inauguration by the governor.
