JUST IN: Tinubu Declared Winner Of APC Presidential Primary
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged as the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election ahead of the 2027 general election, securing a sweeping victory in the party’s nationwide direct primary conducted on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
Tinubu was officially declared the winner on Sunday after the completion and collation of results from the exercise held across the country’s 8,809 wards in all 774 local government areas.
The President’s only challenger in the contest was APC chieftain and businessman, Stanley Osifo from Edo State, who also participated in the primary election.
The outcome further strengthens Tinubu’s position within the ruling party as he prepares to seek a second term in office under the APC platform in the 2027 presidential election.
Party officials described the exercise as peaceful and transparent, with voting taking place simultaneously across the federation under the party’s direct primary system.
