Tinubu Appoints 39-Year-Old OAU Professor as New JAMB Registrar

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Segun Aina, a professor of computer engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, as the new registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Aina, who is 39 years old and will turn 40 in July, succeeds Ishaq Oloyede, whose second and final tenure as JAMB registrar ends on July 31, 2026.

The appointment marks a generational shift in the leadership of the examination body, with Aina emerging as one of the youngest individuals to head the institution.
