2027 elections: Obi, Dickson meet Kwankwaso in Abuja ahead of NDC convention

Former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, alongside the National Chairman of the NDC, Henry Seriake Dickson, on Friday night paid a courtesy visit to former Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, at his residence in Maitama, Abuja.

The visit was confirmed in a statement issued by Kwankwaso’s media aide, Hon. Saifullahi Hassan.

According to the statement, the political figures held discussions on the current political developments in the country, although specific details of the meeting were not disclosed.

Kwankwaso received the visitors in the company of several notable political allies, including former Kano State Deputy Governor, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna; Senator representing Kano Central, Rufa’i Sani Hanga; prominent NNPP chieftain, Buba Galadima; and Yusuf Datti Kura, who represents the Kura, Madobi and Garun Malam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Other key figures within the Kwankwasiyya movement were also present at the meeting.

Although the agenda of the discussions was not made public, the visit has already sparked fresh speculation about possible political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This is particularly in light of ongoing rumours surrounding potential alliances, including talks of a joint presidential arrangement involving Obi and Kwankwaso.
