‎Oyo Government to Construct 7 New Dump Sites, Begins Inspection


‎The Oyo State Government has announced plans to expand its waste management infrastructure with the construction of seven new sanitary landfill sites across the state.

‎The Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Honorable Ademola Aderinto, disclosed this while speaking at a gathering in Ibadan, the state capital.

‎He explained that the government has begun a structured process to identify, review, and phase out these illegal dump sites while strengthening proper waste management systems.

‎As part of the initiative, Aderinto said the government has commenced work on the new designated sanitary landfill sites across Oyo State.

‎The facilities, he added, will meet environmental and public health standards to ensure safer and more efficient waste disposal.

‎According to the commissioner, the project will form part of broader efforts to modernize sanitation infrastructure and reduce environmental risks associated with indiscriminate dumping.
