The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the resumption of the third phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in Oyo State, scheduled to run from Monday, May 11 to Friday, July 10, 2026.
According to a media statement issued on Wednesday, the exercise will cover both online pre-registration and physical (in-person) registration across the state, in line with INEC’s approved 2026 timetable.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Adeniran Rahman Tella, explained that the third phase will also feature the rotational deployment of the INEC Voter Enrolment Device (IVED) machines across all 351 registration areas within the Commission’s local government offices.
This aspect of the exercise is expected to run from May 11 to July 3, 2026.
He further disclosed that registration activities will hold daily between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., excluding weekends and public holidays.
In addition, prospective registrants will also be able to access services at the state INEC office and all 33 local government area offices within the same timeframe.
The Commission urged eligible citizens to take full advantage of the final phase of the CVR exercise. It noted that the process provides an opportunity for new registration, transfer of polling units or states, replacement of lost or defaced Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and collection of unclaimed PVCs.
INEC emphasized that the exercise is aimed at ensuring that all eligible voters are properly captured ahead of future electoral activities.
