Soludo sends list of 18 commissioner-nominees to Anambra assembly, reappoints four
Governor Chukwuma Soludo has forwarded a list of 18 commissioner-nominees to the Anambra State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
Soludo, who was sworn in for a second term on March 17, secured re-election in the November 2025 governorship poll held across 5,718 polling units in the state.
In a statement on Tuesday, Franklin Osankwa, special assistant on new media to the Speaker of the House of Assembly, said the governor transmitted the first batch of nominees during plenary.
“The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Nkem Udeze, received the first batch of commissioner-nominees from Mr Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, for confirmation during today’s plenary,” the statement read.
Osankwa added that the Speaker immediately referred the list to the House committee on screening and election matters for further legislative action.

- Law Mefor — Information and Value Reformation
- Tobechukwu Nweke — Justice/Attorney-General
- Offornze Amucheazi — Lands
- Vin Ezeaka — Local Government and Community Affairs
- Charles Ofoegbu — Petroleum and Mineral Resources
- Chijioke Ojukwu — Physical Planning and Urban Development
- Casmir Agummadu — Power
- Okey Ezeobi — Works and Infrastructure
- Eddy Ibuzo — Transport
- Esther Onyekesi — Women Affairs and Social Development

Four returning commissioners
Four of the nominees — Afam Obidike, Law Mefor, Patrick Agha, and Izuchukwu Okafor were reappointed, having served in the governor’s first term.
The House is expected to commence screening of the nominees in the coming days.
