‎Just In: Obi, Makinde Hold Strategic Talks on 2027 Elections in Ibadan, Call for Inclusive, Productive Nigeria


‎Former Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, has called for a renewed national focus on building a more inclusive and prosperous Nigeria ahead of the 2027 elections.

‎Obi made this known during a visit to Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde on Tuesday, where he said discussions centred on the need for stronger collaboration and coalition-building ahead of the 2027 general elections, as well as broader efforts aimed at improving the wellbeing of Nigerians.

‎He noted that the consultations were geared towards building a Nigeria where opportunity is not determined by background, but by merit and determination.

He further expressed optimism that with greater unity and inclusiveness, Nigerians can look forward to a more secure, progressive, and prosperous nation where equal opportunity is guaranteed for all.

‎Before the closed-door meeting, Governor Seyi Makinde warmly received the former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, at the Government House in Ibadan, Oyo State.

‎Both leaders briefly acknowledged Stakeholders present and members of the press before proceeding into private discussions, signaling a shared commitment to dialogue and collaboration on issues of national importance.
