Fuel Tanker Crashes Into Shops at Oke-Ado, Ibadan; Tricycle Trapped as Residents Flee for Safety
A fuel-laden tanker was involved in a serious accident this morning at about 9:00 a.m. in the Oke-Ado area of Ibadan, Oyo State, when it lost control and crashed into several roadside shops.
The truck also struck a tricycle during the incident, leaving the tricycle trapped at the scene while causing extensive damage to properties within the busy commercial area.
The crash sparked panic, forcing residents, traders, and passersby to run for safety.
Emergency responders, including personnel of the Nigeria Police Force and firefighters, quickly arrived at the scene to secure the area and prevent any fire outbreak, given the flammable nature of the tanker’s contents.
As of the time of this report, no confirmed casualties have been recorded.
Authorities have cordoned off the area to maintain order and prevent looting of affected shops as Investigations are reportedly ongoing to determine what led to the accident.
