‎Oyo Government Impounds 13 Cows for Illegal Grazing in Ibadan Estate, Gives Owners 7-Day Deadline to Pay Fines


‎Acting on multiple petitions from residents, the Oyo State Government, through the State Rule of Law Enforcement Authority (OYRLEA), in collaboration with security operatives, carried out a targeted enforcement operation against illegal grazing at Marvellous Estate, Akobo Ojurin, Ibadan, today.

‎During the operation, the enforcement team discovered cattle being reared within the residential community, as officers found clear evidence of open grazing in violation of existing state regulations.

‎As a result, Eleven cows were impounded at the first location while another group of cattle numbering two, were intercepted grazing openly along public pathways, bringing the total number of impounded animals to thirteen.

‎The owners of the seized cattle have been directed to report to OYRLEA within seven days to pay the prescribed fines into the government treasury and receive guidance on further lawful steps approved by the State Government.

‎Speaking on the operation, the Chairperson of OYRLEA, Honorable Justice Aderonke Adekemi Aderemi (Rtd.), reaffirmed the Authority’s zero tolerance for actions that threaten public safety, environmental order, and peaceful coexistence within communities.
