Three High Chiefs Due for Coronation Unavailable, Request Postponement — Olubadan Palace Notifies Oyo Government
The attention of His Imperial Majesty, the Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has been drawn to trending reports suggesting a rift between Kabiyesi and His Excellency, Seyi Makinde.
We wish to categorically state that there is no disagreement or rift between Kabiyesi and the Governor. The relationship remains cordial and respectful.
Furthermore, it is incorrect to suggest that the Olubadan travelled out of Ibadan to avoid the coronation ceremony scheduled for Friday, April 3. Kabiyesi is hale, hearty, and fully present in Ibadan, diligently carrying out his responsibilities as the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
For the avoidance of doubt, the three High Chiefs slated for coronation have formally notified the Olubadan of their unavailability and have consequently requested a postponement of the ceremony.
This development has been duly communicated to the Oyo State Government through the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.
