Nigeria currently better off than years ago, says 2Baba
Innocent Idibia, the ace Nigerian singer popularly known as 2Baba, says Nigeria is in a better condition today compared to previous years, despite ongoing economic and security challenges.
The 50-year-old music star shared his views on the state of the country during a recent interview on Chookmouth on Wazobia FM with media personality Yaw.
During the conversation, the host referenced his socially conscious hit song E Be Like Say, noting that many of the issues raised in the track still reflect Nigeria’s current political and social realities.
Responding, 2Baba maintained that the country has made gradual progress over time, saying, “We are better off than so many years ago, if you look at it.”
The singer also spoke about his continued commitment to Nigeria, saying he remains determined to contribute positively and represent the country proudly on any platform.
He added that he had previously participated in a political campaign but has since stepped away from political involvement.
“I campaigned a while ago; I don’t think I want to go into that anymore,” he said.
2Baba briefly rounded off the discussion by singing a line from one of his classic songs, linking his past music to present-day reflections on leadership and life in Nigeria.
