Eight Countries, 15 Foreign Media Organizations Show Interest in Oyo 2026 World Egungun Festival 


‎About eight countries and over fifteen foreign media organisations have shown interest in the 2026 World Egungun Festival, the Oyo State Government has disclosed.

‎The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, made this known during a courtesy visit to Pacesetter Transport Services in Ibadan, where he led the Ministry’s management team alongside Permanent Secretary Rotimi Babalola.

‎He said countries including Gabon and Sierra Leone are among those expected to participate, noting that the festival is gaining increasing international recognition.

‎He added that efforts are ongoing to secure UNESCO recognition for the cultural event.

‎Olatubosun called for partnership with Pacesetter Transport Services, especially in providing transportation logistics for guests and masquerades.

‎In his response, the Chairman of Pacesetter Transport Services, Salami Oladeji Ibraheem (Dikko), commended the Ministry’s efforts and pledged continued support, assuring that the company would align with plans for a successful 2026 edition the World Egungun Festival.
