‎Oyo Government Begins Major Refuse Evacuation Drive, Calls for Residents’ Compliance

‎The Oyo State Government has intensified efforts to restore environmental sanity with a major refuse evacuation drive across the Ibadan metropolis.

‎Leading the initiative, the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, honorable Ademola Aderinto, conducted an inspection of ongoing clean-up operations along major roads in Ibadan metropolis.

‎Speaking during the exercise, honorable Aderinto explained that the inspection was aimed at addressing growing concerns over indiscriminate waste disposal in the state.

‎According to him, the evacuation exercise is currently ongoing in several locations, including Araromi Market at Iwo Road and parts of the Academy Expressway drainage.

‎However, Aderinto expressed concern that the funds being used for the clean-up could have been directed toward other developmental projects, stressing that indiscriminate dumping diverts resources meant for infrastructure and social services.

‎He urged residents to comply with environmental regulations by working with accredited waste collectors and using official complaint channels when issues arise.
