Midnight Blaze Guts Furniture Workshop in Ibadan, Oyo Fire Agency Prevents Casualties
The Oyo State Fire Services Agency has successfully contained a midnight fire that gutted a furniture workshop opposite a commercial Bank at Idi-Ape, along Iwo-road in Ibadan, preventing loss of life and further property damage.
The incident, which prompted a swift response from firefighters led by Chief Fire Superintendent Adekola, saw emergency personnel immediately deployed to the scene.
Upon arrival, the team found the workshop, a fabricated structure used for furniture-making engulfed in flames and thick smoke.
The firefighters quickly launched a coordinated operation, successfully containing the blaze and preventing it from spreading to adjoining shops and nearby properties.
While no casualties were recorded, preliminary investigations revealed that the fire was caused by unattended burning of refuse.
The agency confirmed that properties worth millions of naira were saved during the operation, with personnel returning safely to base after bringing the situation under control.
