Oyo Deputy Governor, Olubadan, Senator Alli, Folarin, Odidiomo, Others in Attendance as Muslim Faithful Observe Eid al-Fitr Prayer at Agodi Ground
Muslim faithful on Friday gathered at the Agodi Eid Ground in Ibadan for the Eid al-Fitr prayer, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
The prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdulganiyu Abubakry Agbotomokekere.
In his sermon, Sheikh Agbotomokekere emphasized the importance of peace, unity, and adherence to Islamic teachings, urging Muslims to sustain the virtues of sacrifice, discipline, and compassion cultivated during Ramadan.
The event attracted top government officials, political leaders, prominent Islamic figures, and traditional rulers.
Notable attendees included Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, represented by his Deputy, Chief Bayo Lawal, and the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde.
Also present were the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States, His Eminence Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola Akinola, and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, adding prestige to the occasion.
Security agencies ensured a peaceful and orderly environment as the prayers took place.
