Olubadan Dismisses Bandit Invasion Claims, Assures Residents of Tight Security
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has dismissed rumours suggesting that terrorists and bandits have infiltrated Ibadan, following recent kidnapping incidents reported in parts of the city.
The incidents, which occurred in areas such as Challenge and the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN) in Idi-Ayunre, had raised concerns among residents about a possible escalation of insecurity.
Addressing the situation, the monarch, who also serves as Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, stated that there is no cause for alarm, emphasizing that the situation remains under control.
He explained that the palace is working closely with the Oyo State Government and relevant security agencies to monitor developments and respond swiftly to any threats.
While acknowledging that criminal elements may attempt to operate within the city, the Olubadan assured residents that such challenges are being effectively managed as they arise.
The monarch also extended his felicitations to Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, while commending traditional chiefs for their continued support in promoting peace and fostering harmonious coexistence among religious communities in the city.
The royal father encouraged residents to cooperate with his palace and security agencies by reporting any suspicious movements or activities within their communities.
He then reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining peace and ensuring that Ibadan remains safe for all.
