Sowore Needs to Apologize to Mr. President__ Satguru Maharaj Ji

Omoyele Sowore is currently in court for calling President Bola Ahmed Tinubu a criminal.

I am aware that emotions across Nigeria are charged. People are angry at the state of the country. Omoyele Sowore is a Nigerian who has the right to react to adverse realities anywhere they occur or persist in Nigeria.

Sowore called President Tinubu a criminal, and he says he is not willing to retract his words.

I say Omoyele Sowore needs to acknowledge the difference between Bola Ahmed Tinubu and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Sowore was knocked out as one of the contestants in the last Presidential Elections, in which the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the body approved by law, declared the APC Presidential Candidate as the President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This was later confirmed by the Supreme Court, the highest court of the land.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu became President Bola Ahmed Tinubu after he was sworn in to exist and function as the Prime Citizen of Nigeria.

Mr. President is the statutory custodian of all the temporal powers that determine the existence of the Republic.

So long as Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains President of Nigeria, the office he occupies transcends whatever facts of his past or personality that either anger or excite anyone.

I am talking about respecting the office of the President of Nigeria, not about making a deity of whoever occupies it. The office and the person occupying the office are statutorily and functionally one — non-separated.

If Sowore has any grievance to express against President Tinubu, he should wait for Bola Tinubu’s reign as President of Nigeria to expire, after which the latter becomes a regular citizen.

I am not putting a gag on the voice of any Nigerian who feels aggrieved by Mr. President’s decisions, precedents, or antecedents. I am simply saying that people should mind the choice of words and labels they use to address whoever is Nigeria’s Mr. President.

You can call someone a rogue or stupid without using the words “rogue” or “stupid” on him or her. It is neither African to disrespect authority, nor is it acceptable in Africa to condone negativity.

As Africans, we have our deep cultural and traditional ways of cutting the head of a python without plunging the community into chaos, without denigrating or polluting its existence. We are Africans, not Europeans.

In this wise, I call on Omoyele Sowore to apologize to Mr. President for calling him a criminal, most particularly in the pertinent interest of respect for the office of the President of the Federal Republic.

By calling President Tinubu, the current custodian of the enabling temporal powers of Nigerian existence, a criminal, Omoyele Sowore has basically splashed “excreta” on the collective body of the Nigerian existence.

In succinct terms, by calling the President of Nigeria a criminal, Sowore is, by implication, calling all Nigerians criminals.

Omoyele Sowore is free to call Bola Ahmed Tinubu any name he chooses after the latter’s tenure as President of Nigeria expires. For now, I issue him a Red Card!

I seek to have the case in court, as tabled by the DSS, withdrawn, but on the basis of Sowore tendering an apology to Nigerians. Otherwise, he should be treated as a criminal, rebel, or terrorist until he is able to prove his claim, before it is too late.

Long Live The Federal Republic Of Nigeria.

My Divine Love and Blessings.
