Oyo pilgrims recount witnessing missile attacks live during Israel–Iran tensions, arrive safely in Ibadan
One hundred Christian pilgrims from Oyo State have safely returned to Ibadan after completing their pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan, despite heightened tensions arising from the conflict involving Israel, the United States, and Iran during their stay.
The Chairman of the Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Christian Wing), Bishop Ademola Moradeyo, expressed profound gratitude to God for their safe return shortly after the group arrived at the Board’s office in Ibadan.
Some of the pilgrims described witnessing missile attacks live, recounting how air-raid sirens would suddenly interrupt daily activities as residents rushed for shelter.
They spoke of seeing bright streaks across the night sky and hearing distant explosions, moments they said were both frightening and surreal.
Despite the tense atmosphere, the pilgrims said the journey remained spiritually fulfilling.
They prayed fervently and visited historic biblical sites they had previously only read about in the Scriptures, describing the pilgrimage as a powerful testament to faith amid uncertainty.
