Oyo INEC Strengthens Operations Following Amended General Elections Timetable
Following the latest amended general elections timetable, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Oyo State office, said it has strengthened its operations to boost participation in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
The Oyo State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Adeniran Tella, disclosed this while speaking with newsmen Ibadan, the State Capital.
Professor Tella said the commission reviewed its strategies in line with the updated timetable to ensure that more eligible voters are captured within the stipulated period.
He added that the commission has intensified efforts in the current phase of the Continuous Voter Registration Exercise and the introduction of the rotational INEC Voter Enrolment Device (IVED) machines to all 351 registration area centres in Oyo State is paying off in real time.
He urged eligible residents who are yet to register to take advantage of the improved operational strategy and turn out en masse, reaffirming INEC’s commitment to delivering a comprehensive and credible voters’ register ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
