NSCDC Pledges Befitting Burial for Officer Who Died During Abuja Simulation Exercise

 

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has pledged to accord a befitting burial to Assistant Superintendent of Corps Ogbodo Ene Victoria, who tragically lost her life during a simulation exercise in Abuja.

In a statement issued by the Corps’ National Spokesperson, Afolabi Babawale, the NSCDC confirmed that the officer died following an auto accident that occurred during a simulation exercise at the Corps’ National Headquarters.

The exercise was part of activities marking the 2026 World Civil Defence Day.

According to the statement, the late officer was immediately rushed to the Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital in Abuja, where medical personnel made concerted efforts to save her life.

Sadly, she later succumbed to her injuries.

The Commandant General of the Corps, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, expressed deep shock and sorrow over the incident.

He extended heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased officer, assuring them that she would be given full and befitting burial rites in recognition of her service and sacrifice.

He also urged all personnel to remain steadfast in the discharge of their duties and to adhere strictly to established safety standards during operations and training exercises.
