INEC, IPAC, Others Deepen Collaboration to Ensure Credible Electoral Process as Voter Registration Gains Momentum in Oyo
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Oyo State has intensified collaboration with key political and security stakeholders as voter registration continues to record impressive turnout across the state.
The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Professor Adeniran Tella, said the Commission is working closely with the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) and the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) to ensure a smooth and credible electoral process.
Professor Tella noted that IPAC has been actively holding meetings to strengthen cooperation among political parties and the electoral body.
On the security front, the REC disclosed that INEC has maintained regular consultations with ICCES to guarantee a peaceful environment before, during, and after elections.
He explained that these meetings are held consistently to review preparedness, coordinate security strategies, and prevent potential disruptions.
While emphasizing stakeholder collaboration, Professor Tella also highlighted the strong public response to the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise.
He said eligible Nigerians have been coming out in large numbers to register for the first time, replace lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards, and update their registration details.
Reaffirming the Commission’s commitment to inclusive democracy, the REC assured residents that INEC remains determined to provide every qualified voter the opportunity to participate in the electoral process.
