Oyo Government Enlists Investors To Develop Five Tourist Sites, Targets Commercial Farming
Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has disclosed that the state government has commenced the onboarding of investors interested in developing five priority tourist sites across the state.
According to the governor, the investor engagement process is part of a broader economic diversification strategy aimed at reducing overreliance on traditional revenue sources while opening Oyo State to wider investment opportunities.
He explained that the selected tourist sites were carefully identified based on their cultural value, economic potential, and capacity to generate employment, stimulate small businesses, and preserve the state’s rich heritage.
Beyond tourism, the governor said his administration is aligning its investment drive with reforms in other sectors, particularly agriculture, to ensure a balanced and sustainable economic growth model.
He reaffirmed that Oyo State remains open for serious business, stressing that he is determined to move agricultural practices from subsistence farming to structures productivity.
