Collation Ends as INEC Returning Officer Prepares Final Results for Winner’s Declaration;

Adeleke Leads 19 LGs, APC’s Oyebamiji secures 11 LGs

The collation of results for the 2026 Osun State governorship election has ended, with the Independent National Electoral Commission now set to announce the final outcome of the keenly contested poll.

The completion of the collation brings the electoral process to the final stage, as the Returning Officer prepares the final list of results from the state’s 30 local government areas ahead of the declaration of the winner. Results indicate that incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party won in 19 local government areas, while All Progressives Congress candidate Bola Oyebamiji secured victory in 11 local government areas.

The exercise followed the collation and verification of results from polling units through the ward and local government levels, with officials compiling the figures submitted from across the state.

The election featured incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, All Progressives Congress candidate Bola Oyebamiji, African Democratic Congress candidate Najeem Salaam and other contestants.

Attention is now focused on the Returning Officer, who is expected to present the final figures and formally declare the candidate who secured the highest number of valid votes as the winner of the election.

The declaration is expected to bring to an end the collation process and officially determine who will govern Osun State for the next term.
