Osun 2026: Accord – APC Race Neck and Neck as 94.8% of Results Come In
The Accord Party and the All Progressives Congress are locked in a close contest in the 2026 Osun State governorship election, with results from 3,568 of the state’s 3,763 polling units recorded so far.
The results captured represent 94.8 per cent of the total polling units, with Accord currently polling 504,776 votes, representing 52.38 per cent of the votes counted, while the APC has secured 430,617 votes, representing 44.68 per cent.
The figures put Accord ahead of the APC by 74,159 votes based on the results currently available. However, the contest remains open as the outstanding results are yet to be fully collated and officially declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Results from 195 polling units, representing about 5.2 per cent of the total, are still outstanding. The votes from the remaining polling units could alter the current margin between the two leading parties, depending on the results recorded in those areas.
The collation process is continuing across the state, with election officials expected to receive and verify the outstanding results before the final figures are announced.
Until the complete results are collated and formally declared by INEC, neither party can be said to have secured victory, with Accord and APC remaining the two leading contenders in the closely watched Osun governorship race.
